Today marks the start of the final month of my time in Dalian. It won't be the last time I come here as I intend to visit once in awhile and I'll be in constant contact with my friends here. Of course, my feelings are mixed, I really like this place but I know it's time to move on. More reflections on my time here later on in June.
My Australian cousin, Austin, is here visiting while on a round-the-world trip. He's already hit much of North America, Europe and now Asia. Another Aussie cousin, Timmy, will be visiting me later in June on the week I leave. I'll have to get my act together with regards to packing and getting rid of some of my stuff here. I have a lot of clothes and household goods that I'll either sell or give away. I also have to go on a souvenir buying frenzy (seems like half of my luggage space will be your stuff, BILL) for family and friends, it's cheap to get souvenirs in China, of course, this IS the world's workshop.
On June 26, I'll be flying down to Shanghai (ugh, Chinese airline...) and then on an Air Canada flight to Vancouver and then onto Toronto.
Some of you have been asking what will happen to this site when I leave Dalian. I"ll still keep blogging, wherever I go. I've decided to split up this website into a Dalian edition (March 2003-June 2005) and a Hong Kong edition (July 2005- ???). Like
Sinosplice, readers will be able to have a choice of which edition they want to read. I will continue to provide assistance to anyone looking for info on Dalian and to do the same for new acquaintances in and around Hong Kong and southern China.
