Dear children of China, happy children's day!
You are the future custodians of a budding economic and political super power. The pressures of society will grow heavier every year. The high school entrance exams, university entrance exams, graduate school entrance exams and job interviews all will test your work ethic and resolve. Competition is fierce in China as you probably know already.
Show the world that China is not an aggressive/belligerent nation and avoid the many pitfalls (corruption, political infighting, socio-economic disparity, disregard for human rights/the environment, etc) that have hurt China over the past few centuries.
Hard work, innovation, honesty, cooperation and keeping an open mind to new ideas will bring you success, both domestically and internationally.
Go out and travel, see the world, meet new people and learn about other cultures and ideas.
Good luck and all the best.
Your Canadian and Chinese friend,
Derrick
